The news "guardian"
They beat him until he was lifeless (10 Oct) is a total exaggeration. On the next day, Guardian posted Activist found alive after beating by mob (11 Oct). There is no way that Lu can still "has told" The Guardian if what reported on 10 Oct is not an exaggeration – his tongue was cut just 24 hours ago!
I turned my site black yesterday originally to protest the government act, and it turns out to be a protest for unethical news reporting. If Benjamin Joffe-Walt intended to help the activists by dramatic treatment of the story, then he is damned wrong. It will only lead the public to ignore police violence in PRC, and also a very good excuse for the PRC government to rebut similar news in future. Or more likely, Mr. Joffe-Walt is only looking for a quick path for fame.
And The Guardian doesn’t even bother post a correction notice!
